10. Darjeeling to Tashiding via Gangtok


On this journey from Darjeeling to Gangtok you can visit the beautiful Do-drul Chorten Stupa, and the Enchey and Rumtek Monasteries. From there, the drive to Pelling, a little town nestled 2,200 metres above sea, is fantastic and Pelling is the starting point for most of the tough treks in West Sikkim. The final destination is the Tashiding Monastery, located atop a heart-shaped hill with the Mt. Kanchenjunga providing a scenic backdrop.
