Get Set Vroooooooom to Dehradun! – Part 2

It is said that the destination is as important as the journey you take to reach it, in the same spirit, we are here with the second write up of our bike trip to Dehradun , as promised and today we are elaborating on the second road trip destination, Rishikesh !

Rishikesh is 233km away from New Delhi, and it takes an average of 4hours and 20 minutes to reach. On this journey, you will find other attractions like Bijnor, Haridwar etc while on your way, but we will come back to them later.

The weather in Rishikesh remains pleasant mostly throughout the year, but you will be very happy to go there during this spring season, as the weather is perfect for a picnic with friends. To add to your ease, we at www.wheelstreet.com have started renting out super cool bikes on affordable rent, so you can easily pick one and get going.

To add to your ease even further, there are many MANY hotels and guest houses in Rishikesh, so you are always going to find a place to stay. It is better to try a less flamboyant resting place because it will not burn a hole in your pocket and the food is more likely to be fresher and more “sattvik” at the same time the lodge and hotel owners are equally cleanliness loving, so hygiene is not going to be an issue.

As Rishikesh is the birthplace of Yoga, you are bound to find many ashrams there. One better than the other. Those who are more into Yoga must make it a point to reach Rishikesh in March as there is an International Yoga Festival held every year! It is one of the biggest yoga festivals in the world and goes on for 7 days.

Apart for yoga and spirituality, Rishikesh is also famous for white water rafting with grade 3 and 4 rapids. Tents are set on campsites like Camp Aqua Forest and Camp Ganga  Riviera. Along with rafting, you can also experience another exciting adventure sport – BUNGEE JUMPING at Mohanchatti Village, 15 km from Rishikesh.  Not to forget, keep in mind to enjoy the famous Laxman Jhoola!

All the food you will there will only be pure vegetarian as the place is holy and spiritual. For tasty Ayurpak or Ramana’s  Garden Restaurant.

SO…..for an altogether uplifting experience, head to Rishikesh, you may find yourself in the beauty and serenity of the place. And it can be best explored on a motorcycle so get a bike on rent and go vrooming.

Happy Riding from Wheelstreet!
