Another year is coming to an end and while most of you may be making new year’s party plans or thinking of resolutions that you’ll follow for a week before giving up, we at Wheelstreet have decided to make a list of the sexiest bikes released this year. This year was a big one for the biking world, with a number of brilliant models being launched at the Tokyo Motor Show and the EICMA; So it was a bit difficult to narrow down only 10 bikes for this list and here they are in no particular order.
1. Ducati 1299 Panigale S
Ducati is often hailed as the Ferrari of the bike world and for good reason. The 1299 Panigale is the perfect vision of what a bike from the country that makes the most beautiful cars should look like. The flagship bikes from the Italian manufacturers are known to set the design standard for the rest of the industry and Ducati have not dissapointed in this aspect. The 1299 Panigale S is a stunning masterpiece of magnesium, aluminum and carbon-fibre powered by a monster of an engine that makes it the most exceptional superbike in Ducati’s illustrious history.
2. Kawasaki Ninja H2R
The craziest monster to come from the land of the rising sun after Godzilla, the Ninja H2R is a testament to Kawasaki’s pursuit for superbike excellence. Driven by a mad 300hp supercharged 4 cylinder engine, the H2R promises to re-write a number of speed records for production bikes. The H2R also happens to be one of the most striking bikes, not only of this year, but of all time. It looks like a F-22 raptor and a Lamborghini Aventador had a kid and the Ninja H2R was the result.
3. Triumph Daytona 675R
This absolutely brilliant middleweight from Triumph is touted as one of the best bikes you can buy even if you have all the money in the world. The Daytona has a rich exhaust note that heralds its arrival much before you can lay your eyes on it and once you do catch a glimpse it, you’ll find it hard to avert your gaze. The Daytona 675R is the absolute best in its segment, and with its brilliant blend of engineering and style the Triumph is a shoo-in for this list.
4. MV Augusta F3 800
If Ducati is the Ferrai of the biking world, then MV Augusta is Lamborghini. The Milan based manufacturers originally started off as an aviation company and some of that lineage is still evident in its 2015 F3 800 model. The F3 800 looks like a stealth fighter, is incredibly light and manages to blend the performance of a litre-class superbike with the handling of a middleweight sportbike. With a hint of red frame showing from behind the fairing, the sharpest of tails and MV Augusta’s signature triple exhaust set near the rear wheel, this bike looks fantastic from every single angle.
5. Aprilia RSV4 RR
Aprilia makes bikes that look as good on wall posters as they do on the road, and the latest RSV4 is no exception. This bike is the production version of the World Superbike Championship winning bike by Aprilia also called the RSV4. As expected from a WSC winner, the RSV4 RR features the latest in electronics and engine technology, all of which is housed in a very aerodynamic and very good-looking body. Each bike that bears the RSV badge from the Aprilia garages is a looker and this year’s edition is no exception.
