Vasco Da Gama shortened to Vasco, is Goa's largest city. It is named after the Portuguese explorer by the same name. It acts as the head quarters to the sub-district of Mormugao. It is located at a distance of 25 kms from the capital city of Panjim.
The Vasco harbour has great economic and tourist significance in the state. The city depends majorly on the harbour, for all kinds of financial and economic activity. The place is very well connected by road, rail as well as air. A lot of visitors flock to this place every year. The famous beaches in and around Vasco Da Gama are - Bogmalo, Hollant and Baina beaches.
