Alibag is a coastal town, 120 kms to the south of Mumbai, separated by a narrow stretch of the Arabian Sea. It is a captivating piece of land, enveloped by water bodies on 3 sides and is part of the Raigad district of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is named after the Bene Israeli Ali and his gardens.
