Malshej is a mountain pass belonging to the Western Ghats of India and is situated in the state of Maharashtra. Located amidst high hills, this small place is close to nature. Malshej especially sees many species of birds in its surroundings such as rails, flamingos, quails and cuckoos.

Pune and Mumbai are its nearest major cities at a distance of 130 kms and 154 kms respectively. This route is part of National Highway 50. State buses are available from these cities to Malshej ghat at regular intervals of time, making travel easy. Visitors, however, prefer to cover this stretch on cars and bikes.
