Day 3 Keylong - Pang (190 Km)
We ride along the adventurous roads of Keylong to reach Pang from where we will later head to Leh. Overnight stay at Pang.
Day 4 Pang - Leh (180 Km)
We start riding. One loses the sense of time riding on the endless road surrounded by Himalayan mountains. Although you wish to take multiple stops for photos, you should head to our destination early, to avoid the extremely cold atmosphere.
Day 5 Leh (100 Km)
Day at leisure. Wake up late and after breakfast you can enjoy your day. Explore the main attractions in the city. On this day you are free to explore Leh, visit markets and Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, magnetic hills, Hall of fame, Shanti stupa, Thiksey Monastery, Alchi Choskor Monastery, Likir Monastery, Leh Royal Palace, and local Tibetan markets. Dinner will be served at the Hotel. Enjoy your overnight stay.
Day 6 Leh - Pangong Lake (180 Km)
After breakfast, the group proceeds to the famous point (3 Idiots) at Pangong lake, enjoy the photo shoot at the lake. We will stay at the camps at the lake. It is simply breathtaking. The camps are all fixed and very comfortable. Under the night sky and with other campers enjoying the best night of the trip.
Day 7 Pangong Lake - Nubra Valley (150 Km)
Today we are riding on an incredibly moody road with a wide variety of terrains, changing every few kilometres. The road to Nubra will confuse you whether to look on the road or the beautiful view of an oasis in the high altitude desert.
Day 8 Nubra - Turtuk - Nubra (160 Km)
Hunder (Nubra Valley)- Turtuk- Nubra Valley. Enjoy a yummy organic breakfast in Hunder and explore near by destinations- Hunder to Turtuk is nothing less than exceptional. Apart from being remote, Turtuk is unique for various reasons. While whole of Ladakh is a Buddhist dominated area, Turtuk follows Islam as its primary religion. Everything from apricots, apples, tomatoes, cauliflowers, and cabbages grow in Turtuk. Turtuk is a gallery of unspeakable beauty, it is a colourful portrait. The last big village before Turtuk is Bogdang, a largely Sufia Noorbakhshia dominated area, where no one was allowed to buy a television until recently. Later return back to Nubra valley. Enjoy your stay with lots of local stories of this area.
Day 9 Nubra – Khardung La - Leh (130 Km)
We are leaving to witness a human-made wonder. A lot has been and is being said about Khardung-La. We also observe a 50 ft tall statue of Maitreyi (Buddha) en route. Even though the roads are broken, muddy, and narrow, there is still a road to the highest motorable road for a civilian. While you ride for the hilltop, you understand the toil it takes to build and maintain a road at this altitude; the respect for BRO reaches a new height. Your eyes glitter by looking at BRO’s board of highest motorable road, the feeling is so difficult to express. ‘Mission accomplished’ You along with many other overly enthusiastic riders run for the customary photograph with the board. After the joyous celebration, we drive downhill for Kilometers, feels scary while looking at endless downhill roads. We are back to Leh & oxygen.
Day 10 Leh – Kargil (240 Km)
Our Suggestion - Get your accelerator wire rechecked. You may snap the throttle wire while pushing too hard on the best highway of the trip so far. We also come across the Magnetic Hill. Bieng the most beautiful stretch, you can’t help yourself taking photos and videos. Don't worry the breathlessness you felt were gifts from Fotu La (13478ft) and Namika La (12139ft). Slowly we descend towards the Kargil city.
Day 11 Kargil – Srinagar (240 Km)
After a heavy breakfast, we start the journey to Srinagar. You are fascinated with the road quality till Drass, the second coldest inhabited town in the world. While we are at Drass, it is a must to visit historical war memorial & pay tribute to those soldiers who sacrificed lives in 1999. Before you get too habituated to the road, Zoji La shatters your illusion. We still manage to drive past these obstacles to reach Srinagar before evening. Don't you have a list to visit - Dal lake, Shikara, Mughal Garden?
Day 12 Srinagar - Hometown
After breakfast, we meet again to bid farewell to each other & cheers to the moments of togetherness. Here onwards we leave for our lives and cities.
